Punto Mita Suites & Hostal is unhappy with the lack of environmental policies that exist in Mexico so we are 100% committed to do our part. There are four main areas we focus on for minimising consumption, and ensuring efficiency to help sustain our environment.

Did you know that currently the supply of water in Punta de Mita and the region is critical as the sources are not enough to supply the high demand, since it is overexploiting the aquifer in the area and the government does not invest In infrastructure to solve the problem.
THE ISSUE
In high season, more than 50% of the water consumed at Punto Mita Suites & Hostal, comes in private water truck that consume fuel to go to the water wells and come back to supply the town.
WHAT WE DO
We capture and purify the rainwater, all our toilets are ecological that means that they spend 3.8 liters of water per discharge, we also have dry urinals in the bathrooms of the hostel and terrace men and women, in the same way, we are proud to say that the condensers of the air conditioners, pour the water in our plants and our water warehouse.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Good daily practices
- Take short showers (turn off the key while applying soap and shampoo)
- Wash dishes with little water (they moisten and soapy and then rinse all at the same time)
- Do not leave the water runing while washing your teeth
- Ask if someone else will use the toilet to share the water discharge.
